The Office for Students (OfS) is expected to publish the second stage of its consultation on their approach to regulating quality this October, including details of the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and how a more integrated approach to regulating quality will work in practice.
This roundtable is a chance for IHE Members to hear directly from the OfS team leading the TEF and integrated quality work, and to put their questions to them. It follows our first roundtable on 5 November, where members will identify the priority issues to raise with the OfS.
The session will open with an overview from the OfS, followed by discussion and Q&A shaped by member priorities.
Discussion may include areas such as:
- the timeline for the first assessment cycle and which providers will be included
- how the approach will work for smaller providers and those with partnership provision
- expectations for supporting independent student submissions
- what the assessment of student experience and student outcomes will look for
- how ratings and their consequences will work in practice.
You don't need to have attended the member roundtable to join this session, but it's a good way to shape the questions we put to the OfS.
This session is aimed at those with responsibility for quality, regulation, TEF submissions, student engagement, academic governance, and institutional strategy. Members' views will be used to inform IHE's consultation response.
