IHE Launchpad: Setting up in the UK: A brief guide for overseas providers and investors

Recent changes to higher education regulation in England have opened new opportunities for overseas education providers and investors to deliver and partner in the UK. The IHE Launchpad programme has supported several overseas universities, colleges and education groups find the right model to deliver their unique offer in the UK, to both international and UK students.

This webinar will explore the opportunities and challenges for overseas education providers to set up in the UK. We will hear from Smita Jamdar of Shakespeare Martineau, leading legal expert on Higher and Further education, Joy Elliott-Bowman, Director of Policy and Development at IHE  bringing IHE’s extensive experience supporting new higher education provision, and IHE members who have set up study abroad, overseas campuses and new UK-regulated higher education providers in the UK.

The webinar will host expert presentations in the following areas before a Q&A (online webinar only):

  • Options to set up a campus or new institution in the UK
  • Study Abroad opportunities
  • Delivering to international and UK students
  • Regulation options to access student finance, student visas and government funding
  • Considerations for overseas providers including governance, financial sustainability and meeting UK requirements for student protection, transparency and more.
  • Top tips from IHE members

Recordings of this webinar will be available to view as part of IHE’s launchpad programme or individual access.
