Shortlists announced for IHE Awards 2026

This year's awards attracted submissions from a wide range of member institutions from across the IHE community, reflecting the diversity, creativity and excellence that characterise the sector.

IHE Awards 2026

The IHE Awards celebrate the innovation, impact and distinctive strengths of independent higher education providers. This year's shortlisted entries showcase how IHE Members are responding to some of the most significant opportunities and challenges facing higher education today.

Across the award categories, a number of common themes emerged. Independent providers are creating more responsive and inclusive learning environments by listening to student voices, using data and evidence to support success, and harnessing technology to enhance the learning experience. Strong industry engagement remains a defining characteristic of the sector, with members building meaningful partnerships that connect students to professional practice and future careers.

The shortlisted entries also highlight the global outlook of IHE Members, from preparing graduates for international careers to building partnerships that deliver impact across borders. They also demonstrate how providers are taking a proactive approach to sustainability, social responsibility and community engagement, embedding these values across institutional culture, curriculum and operations.

Entries were assessed by an independent panel of judges drawn from across the higher education and related sectors. The judges praised the quality, breadth and ambition of submissions, recognising the innovative approaches members are taking to enhance student outcomes and address wider societal needs.

Together, the shortlisted entries reflect a sector that is agile, innovative and deeply focused on delivering outstanding outcomes for students, industry and society. Congratulations to all our finalists and thank you to everyone who submitted an entry.
