Francis James specialises in flexible, practice-oriented programmes for the construction and built environment sector, designed to fit around work.
Established in 2024, Francis James was created to widen participation in UK higher education by offering accessible pathways that support learners while meeting the needs of employers in a key UK industry.
Its flexible distance learning model combines live evening lectures, interactive online workshops, and a dynamic virtual campus. Students are supported by dedicated tutors and guest lecturers with current industry experience, giving them insight into real-world challenges, sector innovation, and best practice. The virtual campus fosters collaboration across cohorts, reflecting the interdisciplinary teamwork central to modern construction projects.
Learners can progress at a pace that suits their schedule, gaining a nationally recognised qualification validated by Richmond American University London. This model is designed to help students advance their careers without taking extended breaks from work, while developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed in the sector.
