OfS harassment and sexual misconduct (Condition E6) - for new providers

This session will provide an introduction to the new Office for Students (OfS) ongoing condition of registration on harassment and sexual misconduct (Condition E6). This is aimed at providers who are new to OfS regulation and requirements.  This is part of a series of support provided by IHE to help members navigate OfS requirements and process.

Condition E6, which imposes duties on providers to prevent and address harassment and sexual misconduct, will come into force on the 1 August 2025. This will impact both providers who are registered with the OfS, and those who are in a partnership with an institution who is registered with the OfS.

Providers need to plan, deliver, and publish steps it will take that will make a significant and credible difference in protecting students from behaviour that may account to harassment and / or sexual misconduct. These must cover areas including prevention, staff and student training, reporting and investigation procedures, and student support.

This session will provide an overview of these requirements along with examples of actions providers can take to meet them. It will also outline the further support and resources available from IHE.
