Since 1968, the UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA) has been dedicated to supporting international students and the professionals at the institutions, students' unions, and organisations that work closely with them. Building on our close strategic links with UKCISA, we are pleased to host this Meet the Sector session, where we will be joined by Christopher Benjamin from UKCISA's Advice and Training team, to provide an introduction to UKCISA and highlight opportunities and support available to independent higher education providers.
The session will cover:
- an introduction to UKCISA, resources and services for students
- insights into UKCISA’s policy and advocacy work
- UKCISA support for higher education providers
About UKCISA
UKCISA is the UK's national advisory body serving the interests of international students and those who work with them. UKCISA is an independent UK charity and membership body that provides advice, guidance, and information about all aspects of the international student experience.
UKCISA’s Advice & Training team work with student-related immigration law, and fee status legislation, as well as other areas affecting international students such as student support, welfare, hardship, and studying and living in the UK. They provide IAA-compliant advice to members and international students and deliver informative, engaging training to members. Their analysis of UK legislation enables UKCISA to identify issues in law and government materials, to aid lobbying and clarification.
