An introduction to Student Funding and Finance in England

This session will provide a practical overview of student funding and finance in England. It will cover the basics of how student funding works, the types of loans available, and how eligibility varies by OfS category, level of study (UG/PG), and mode of delivery (full-time, part-time, online). The session will also explain which students and courses are not eligible for funding.

Attendees will gain an overview of how providers sign up with the Student Loans Company (SLC), their responsibilities once registered, and how subcontracting or franchising arrangements affect student funding.

This session is suitable for providers and staff who are new to student funding or need a refresher.
