Introduction to the registration process with the Office for Students

Join us for this webinar delivered by the Office for Students (OfS) in partnership with IHE, offering authoritative guidance on the OfS registration process for higher education providers.

Drawing on the OfS’s regulatory role and IHE’s insight into the independent provider landscape, the webinar will focus on building a high-level understanding of the principles that underpin registration, and the practical application of the initial and ongoing conditions providers must meet.

The session will reflect the latest regulatory changes to registration and the conditions of registration that came into force in August 2025, and will provide a clear, provider-facing perspective on what these changes mean in practice.

Specifically, this session will focus on:

  • The principles of registration with the OfS
  • OfS categories and who needs to register
  • Deep dive into the conditions of registration
  • Benefits and responsibilities of registration
  • Evidence required to support an application
  • Registration timelines and how decisions are made

The session is designed to help independent providers approach registration with greater confidence, understand regulatory expectations more clearly, and identify the key areas of focus for a successful application. Time will be reserved at the end of the webinar for questions and discussion.
