IHE Roundtable: OfS reforms to registration requirements (C and E conditions)

The OfS has launched a consultation on proposed changes to entry tests for registration in relation to consumer protection and governance, as well changes to its registration process. The OfS identifies in increased risk in the sector as well as the increasing diversity of providers seeking OfS registration as the drivers for necessary change to entry tests and registration processes.

The changes proposed are:

  • A new initial condition (C5) : Treating students fairly (replacing conditions C1 and C3).
  • A new initial condition (C7) : Effective governance (replacing conditions E1 and E2)
  • Changes to the registration process – including the collection of more detailed financial information, and a requirement that provider submit all required information at the point of application.

At this Roundtable, the IHE policy team will outline the proposals and what these would mean for your institution, before seeking your feedback on the changes proposed, the impact of these, and as well as suggestions for other ways the OfS could meet the objectives outlined.
