HESA have launched the fourth in their series of consultations, looking at how and what is collected for in-year data. This consultation is designed to gain feedback on the proposal to remove the current SessionStatus entity which is a child of StudentCourseSession and replace it with a new EngagementStatus entity as a child of Engagement. This proposal specifically relates to in-year and so the change would happen at the same time as the move to in-year data collection (2028/29).
This consultation will close on Monday 27 April 2026.

We are particularly interested in hearing from those who are responsible for submitting data to the current student record.
