Drug Harm Reduction - a pilot for independent providers

As part of IHE’s commitment to a taskforce to help understand and address student drug-use, we are pleased to welcome Tracy Lumb, Senior Project Manager – Wellbeing at SOS-UK to lead this online meeting.

SOS-UK will present the opportunity for IHE members to be part of developing a new framework for independent providers based on their successful pilot in universities during the last two years. Tracy is one of the leading experts in the sector on implementing drug harm prevention strategies, and has a wealth of experience to share, as seen in her recent blog for HEPI.

Drawing on the work of the taskforce, Universities UK (UUK) will shortly publish a framework to support the higher education sector in addressing student drug use through a harm-reduction approach. This online session is perfectly timed ahead of the UUK publication to help our members understand how they can engage with the best practice in this area.

  • The session will give an overview of the previous SOS-UK pilot and some of the successes and strategies used by participants
  • The SOS-UK team will provide support for the pilot participants in this challenge area
  • Those in the pilot will be part of a collaborative unit, to support and learn from each other
