GIS delivers football (soccer) related modules and content in partnership with international universities who offer sports related programmes. The programmes we currently deliver under partnership arrangements are:
St Thomas University (STU), Miami, Florida, USA: In partnership with STU we offer the MS Sports Administration (Global Futbol Management) programme.
University of Newcastle, Sydney, Australia: GIS works in partnership with the University of Newcastle (Australia) to develop a suite of new, football related programmes taught on the University of Newcastle campus. Current programmes being offered are Master of International Sports Business and a Master and Graduate Certificate in Sports Analytics.
Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University, Ontario, Canada: The MBA in Sports Management combines MBA rigour with GIS' industry-embedded approach. Based in Toronto’s world-class sports ecosystem, the programme provides real industry access, applied learning and the global network needed to progress a career in sport.
Vrije Universiteit Brussels (VUB), Belgium: GIS teaches the PGDip International Football Business in partnership with RSC Anderlecht football club.

We are open to discussions with representatives in any international location. As a specialist in football, GIS is particularly interested in collaborations in countries with a developing or well-developed football culture and industry.
GIS and St Thomas University in Miami
In recent years, Miami (Florida) has become a centre-point of the developing soccer industry in the United States following David Beckham's involvement in the establishment of Inter Miami and their signing of global superstar Messi.
The Global Institute of Sport has maintained a campus location at Inter Miami for several years as a recognised provider of HE under the Florida Board of Education and the Commission for Independent Education.
In 2024, a partnership was formed between GIS and St Thomas University (STU) in Miami, a private Catholic university with a long history in the city of Miami and specialisms in sports related subjects. Through this partnership, GIS provides academic expertise in soccer related subject areas which STU have added as a pathway to their pre-existing and highly successful MS in Sports Administration.
Our partnership combines STU's on-campus facilities and existing infrastructure with GIS's specialist knowledge and expertise in football, enabling both institutions to establish and develop a relevant academic profile in one of the most exciting cities in the United States for the emergent soccer industry in the USA.
