British Psychotherapy Foundation (bpf)

With over 700 members, the British Psychotherapy Foundation (bpf) is a registered charity and one of the largest psychotherapy membership and training organisations in the UK. Our approach to therapy is based on the rich tradition of psychoanalytic and Jungian theory and practice.

Our trainings are accredited by the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and by the Association for Child Psychotherapists (ACP); both bodies are registered with the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

The bpf offers a lifelong learning model. Our main pre-clinical trainings include a foundation course and a MSc in the Psychodynamics of Human Development. We offer professional qualifications for clinical work with adults in psychoanalytic, psychodynamic and Jungian analytic psychotherapy. We deliver a doctorate in child and adolescent psychotherapy and specialist trainings in psychoanalytic parent-infant psychotherapy and couple psychodynamic psychotherapy. Additionally, we provide short pre-clinical courses such as infant observation courses, analytically oriented reading groups, and post-qualification trainings.

We publish the prestigious British Journal of Psychotherapy.
