For over 80 years, NTC has been preparing students to make a meaningful impact in their communities and around the world.
Located in Didsbury, Manchester, NTC is a validated college of the University of Manchester, offering awards from undergraduate degrees through to PhDs.
Specialising in theology, NTC provides academically rigorous and spiritually grounded programmes across areas such as biblical studies, practical theology, counselling, youth and community work, and community development. Students can study full-time, part-time, or online, with flexible pathways designed to support diverse learning needs.
NTC’s ethos is rooted in dignity, equality, fairness, and a commitment to social justice. The college fosters a vibrant, multi-denominational and international learning environment, welcoming students from over 30 nationalities and maintaining formal links with institutions worldwide. Many learners come from non-traditional backgrounds, including mature students and those from low participation areas, and benefit from strong pastoral care to support academic and personal wellbeing.
A hallmark feature of NTC’s undergraduate programmes is the integration of placements and fieldwork. Students apply their learning in real-world contexts such as churches, charities, schools, and social enterprises — reflecting NTC’s belief that theology is not only studied but lived.
Alongside its degree programmes, NTC offers pre-degree learning through initiatives like the Manchester Bible School and short courses, as well as postgraduate taught and research degrees. Its supportive community and emphasis on practical engagement prepare graduates for roles in ministry, chaplaincy, counselling, youth work, and the wider third sector.
With a commitment to academic excellence, spiritual formation, and global engagement, NTC strives to shape leaders who serve with integrity and vision.
