Located in a vibrant part of West London, LCK Academy (LCKA) was established in 2022 as the brainchild of London's Community Kitchen - a charity which serves over 20,000 Londoners facing food poverty through the provision of cookery courses and access to free food.
LCKA was formed to provide individuals with access to high quality education and qualifications that elevate their quality of life. Its primary mission is to serve the community, giving people the knowledge, skills and confidence that will pave the way for a brighter future. The LCKA ethos is centred on the principles of zero self-doubt and zero hardship. Their aim is to ensure that every individual has equitable access to healthy food and affordable education.
LCKA's flagship programmes are Pearson BTEC Level 5 qualifications: HND in Business (with a focus on entrepreneurship and small business management) and an HND in Hospitality Management, both delivered in partnership with Strode College. With a focus on practical skills and theoretical knowledge, they prepare students for roles in the hospitality industry, including leadership and management positions in a range of business functions.
IHE Chief Executive, Alex Proudfoot, said:
"As a society, we are acutely aware of the impact food poverty has on educational opportunity. LCK Academy's commitment to broadening access to education and harnessing entrepreneurial talent is making a difference to the lives of students, their families, and the community it serves. We are delighted to welcome LCKA to IHE and look forward to supporting their efforts to deliver transformational education and training opportunities, building on the innovative spirit of their roots."
