Maria leads on work that strengthens member engagement and ensures members are informed, represented, and supported through a wide range of communications, events, and community-building initiatives. Working in the policy team, she supports the delivery of key policy priorities and leads on student voice, freedom of speech, and the Student Advisory Board. She also oversees internal communications, and member Networks and Forums.
Before joining IHE, Maria spent six years working in communications and engagement roles across the charity and health care sectors. Her experience includes developing member-focused communications strategies, building and maintaining stakeholder relationships, delivering engagement campaigns, and creating opportunities for individuals to share their views and influence organisational priorities.
