Student representative training: Looking after students, looking after you - where your role begins and ends

Coole Insight logo

Student representatives may be exposed to other learners' difficult and traumatic experiences, and may come across sensitive information.

Delivered by Coole Insight, this session will help students to understand the parameters of their representative role and how to protect their own wellbeing, as well as how and when to signpost learners to appropriate support.

This session will focus on case studies and practical examples of signposting.

The key takeaways will be:

  • a plan for looking after your own wellbeing
  • a map of local support available for learners
  • an understanding of Mental Health First Aid.
