This training session is for any member of staff who might hear a disclosure of harassment or sexual misconduct, and will be delivered by Dr Nina Burrows, founder of The Consent Collective. It is the second in a series of three delivered by The Consent Collective.
When a student or staff member discloses an experience of sexual harassment, the way you respond in that moment matters. Whether you have a strategic role in student services or are simply more likely to hear disclosures due to the nature of your work, knowing how to navigate these conversations with care, confidence, and professional boundaries is essential.
This session will explore:
- What to do—and what not to do—in the moment when someone shares their experience
- How to hold the relationship while maintaining professional boundaries
- Follow-up support for both the person disclosing and yourself
This session focuses on the human side of hearing disclosures, helping you feel more prepared to respond with empathy and clarity.
The Consent Collective will deliver a third session in May 2025. The topic and content for this session will be shaped by feedback from the earlier sessions. Details will be released in due course.
