Introduction to evidence and evaluation: Why evaluate?

This first session will introduce the principles of evidence and evaluation. It will include:

  • Introduction to TASO
  • Why evaluation is important
  • Introduction to the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework (MEF)

There will be opportunities to discuss in breakout rooms the opportunities and challenges practitioners face in their own institutions regarding evaluations as well as time to discuss what practitioners would like to evaluate in the future. Attendees will be invited to do a small amount of follow-up work, looking at the MEF framework and starting to think about an intervention or approach they would like to evaluate in their own contexts.
