Gemma leads our communications and external engagement, working across the organisation to strengthen the profile, voice and impact of IHE and its members within higher education and beyond.
Her responsibilities include leading IHE's communications and marketing strategy, strengthening its brand and reputation, leading media relations, and developing strategic partnerships, collaborative projects and campaigns.
As a member of IHE's senior management team, Gemma plays a key role in shaping the organisation's strategic direction and identifying opportunities for business development and growth. She also oversees IHE's external communications and builds relationships with stakeholders and partners across the sector, helping to extend IHE's reach and influence.
Gemma began her professional career in a university students' union and has worked in higher education ever since. She spent more than 20 years at AGCAS (now the Graduate Futures Institute), a membership body at the intersection of careers, employability and graduate outcomes, where she championed the professionals and institutions supporting student and graduate success.
Her experience spans communications, stakeholder engagement, research and policy, with a consistent focus on advocating for members, representing their interests and communicating the impact of their work.
