Student representative training: Communicating internally and externally - with influence and authenticity

Delivered by Coole Insight, this training session aims to equip students with a range of essential tricks and tips for talking to, and working with, important stakeholders. 

The training will cover how to identify targets and allies, networking, lobbying, building partnerships, being a critical friend, and how to build an effective argument.

Scenario-planning and role-playing techniques will be used to bring the training session to life. 

The key takeaways will be: 

  • an understanding of campaigns theory and lobbying techniques
  • a map of key stakeholders, targets and allies 
  • an action plan for campaigning and influencing.

This training session is for students only.  It is free to all members of the IHE Student Advisory Board (SAB)

Non-SAB students based at IHE member institutions may also participate in the training. For non-SAB students, we are offering one free place per IHE member institution. Subsequent places for students from the same institution will be charged at £35 + VAT per student.
