Angela Halston is IHE's Membership Engagement Manager, responsible for helping members connect, collaborate and make the most of their engagement with the organisation. She works closely with providers across IHE's diverse membership community, supporting networks, facilitating the sharing of good practice, and ensuring members are informed about developments affecting the higher education sector.
Since joining IHE in 2022, Angela has led policy work across a range of areas including quality, student services, mental health, access and participation, recruitment and admissions, and human resources. She continues to lead IHE's policy work on quality and academic partnerships, drawing on her professional background in quality assurance, academic records and working in partnerships.
Before joining IHE, Angela worked in higher education for more than 15 years across universities and specialist providers. She holds an MSc in Human Resource Management from the Open University. Angela is passionate about building connections between people and organisations, helping staff across IHE's membership feel part of a supportive professional community, and creating opportunities for members to share ideas and learn from one another. She is a strong believer in the value that independent providers bring to the higher education sector and is committed to supporting an environment in which diverse and innovative institutions can flourish for the benefit of students, employers and society.
